History

Shri Gopal Mata Ambika Devi Gaushala, located in Kharar, Punjab, was founded in 2000 and got registered in 2012. It is managed by the Shri Gopal Mata Ambika Devi Gaushala Sewa Samiti. Initially started with a few cows at Dera Baba Mangal Nath Ji, it now shelters over 400 abandoned and ailing desi cows and bulls. These animals, often left by their owners or rescued from harmful situations, are provided with food, shelter, and medical care.

The gaushala’s mission is to protect and preserve indigenous cow breeds while promoting cow-based agriculture and awareness about the benefits of products like A2 milk. The organization also focuses on creating sustainable infrastructure for both cow welfare and human education. Regular medical camps for the cows and community support efforts are a part of their ongoing initiatives. Additionally, the gaushala aims to expand and shelter even more cows as part of its long-term goals.
